These are the comments, questions and suggestions that have come up as
a result of our analysis of the SIOC ontology. We have generated
comments for a number of main concepts in the ontology. The following
is a list of the concepts which received some comments from our side:

- It is declared that a forum will have a moderator or
administrator, but how is this relation represented in the model? Does
it come implicitly by a concrete role played by a subscriber of the
forum?
- The meaning of "scope_of" property is not quite clear.
Does it mean that a forum is only visible to a fixed type of role? Or
Hi all!
The Captn has chased me around at #foaf for an extended period, and I
know that you have a deadline for submission coming up RSN.
I'm the one who has done the semweb stuff at my.opera.com, and I'd like
to express my support for what you're doing. Also, I think we will
implement SIOC at my.opera.com as time allows, and I think we will
support your W3C submission.
Now, I have to realize that I will not have the time to write the more
elaborate discussion of the spec before your deadline, but I guess a
not-very well thought out post is better than none, so here we go, and
I have been assembling a collection of SIOC and SPARQL Query demos to
further illustrate how Data Spaces will provide critical infrastructure
for the burgeoning Semantic Web.
Usecase Synopsis:
Distributed Collaborative Applications such as: Weblogs, Wikis,
Bookmark Managers, Feed Aggregators, Photo Galleries, Discussion Forums
etc. with data stored in a SQL compliant ORDBMS that is then mapped to
the SIOC and FOAF ontologies for exposure to SPARQL Queries via SPARQL
Query Language, Protocol, and Results Serialization support.
The usecase sample queries are available at:

We are preparing a W3C member submission of the SIOC ontology and
specification, and would appreciate your feedback.
DERI Galway is looking for partners to support the W3C member
submisson. If your organisation is interested in supporting it, please
send me an email to uldis.bojars@deri.org and I'll provide further
details.
This has been discussed among SIOC developers on #sioc
(irc.freenode.net) and provides an opportunity to stabilise the SIOC
ontology, receive feedback from interested parties and spread awareness
of SIOC.
The submission package consists of the SIOC specification (a
Hello all,
I have shortly noted down why and how we may use AtomOWL's Content
class to represent a sioc:Post's contetn in a more rich way. Please

atomowl-a-new-way-to-describe-content/

Usability schmusability... where's the part where we talk about how
this helps users kick ass?
Hi guys,
I propose to develop, maintain and finance a ping server for SIOC documents. It
would be like weblogs.com but for SIOC documents.
---
- People exporting SIOC documents (weblogs, web services, etc) could ping the
server.
- People importing SIOC documents (crawlers) could fetch the list of newly
updated SIOC documents and then start crawling them.
- I suggest using the XML-RPC and REST API for the communication. That way
weblogs will only have to include the server's URL into their pinging list to
start pinging it.
---
That way we will have a centralized place where we will be able to fetch SIOC
Hi all,
I've just updated Drupal exporter to reflect latest ontology specs
regarding Post properties.
Regarding the specs, there are 2 ways to define "topics" of a Post.
1) Use sioc:topic, type: Resource
2) Use sioc:subject, type: Literal
So, for a given topic, we could do both:
export API
or
as I've done in Drupal API
Actually, and as discussed with Christoph on IRC, I think sioc:subject
Hi guys,
Recently I talked with Alex to ask him if he could be interested in making his
SIOC Browser interacting with Talk Digger. In fact, the next version of Talk
Digger, currently in alpha testing, will generate a SIOC document for each
conversation page.
Currently Alex’s SIOC explorer is crawling and indexing some blogs that
has the
Wordpress (b2Evolution too?) SIOC exporter plugin.
What I suggested him was to let his browser crawl Talk Digger’s SIOC data
as
well.
A couple of days ago, Uldis received the acceptance of his speech at the
BlogTalk Reloaded conference. Their job (because he is not alone in the boat)
